About J-INDEXs
J-INDEX was launched in 2020 with 200 open access journals. Today this independent index contains approximately 12,550 peer-reviewed, open access journals covering all fields of science, technology, medicine, social sciences, arts and humanities. Open access journals from all countries and in all languages ??are accepted for indexing.
J-INDEX is the co-author of the Principles of Transparency and Best Practice in Scientific Publishing, which provides the basis for the key criteria for inclusion of J-INDEX.
Our mission
J-INDEX's mission is to increase the visibility, accessibility, reputation, use and impact of quality, peer-reviewed, open access scientific research journals worldwide.
J-INDEX will work with editors, publishers and journal owners to help them understand the value of publishing best practices and standards and apply them to their own operations.
J-INDEX is committed to being 100% independent and maintaining its primary services and metadata free for use or reuse for all.

J-INDEX is an independent, non-profit organization run by the International Academy of Real Sciences.
J-INDEX relies entirely on voluntary donations from its supporters.
J-INDEX has an Advisory Board and Council, whose members voluntarily carry out their duties.
The work done by the J-INDEX Team is supported by many volunteer editors who help us review submissions. All volunteers are bound by an agreement and must declare any conflict of interest.
zero tolerance policy
We expect our team members and volunteers to always be courteous and respectful of the work they do.
They should not be exposed in any form including:
- abusive behavior
- including derogatory remarks or anything that amounts to verbal or emotional abuse in person or in communication
- rude, disrespectful and aggressive behavior
- sexually inappropriate comments or behavior
- racist and discriminatory harassment
- threats of physical violence
- aggressive and violent behavior
Partnerships and collaborations
J-INDEX works in partnership with many organizations. The nature of partnerships varies and may include membership, employment contracts, exchange of information or services, initiative signatories, or access to information resources that assist J-INDEX in our application review process.
